Kite manjha that killed youth was stuck on pole
NEW DELHI: A week after the 18-year-old man lost his life to kite manjha in Timarpur in North Delhi, police investigation has led the cops to believe that the manjha was struck in the pole when the accident happened on April 1. This means the kite was not flown at the actual time of the incident making it difficult for the Delhi Police to reach out to the actual accused.
The police had already registered a case under section 336 of Ipc (Act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 304A (causing death by negligence).
The 18-year-old boy bled to death after his neck was entangled in a kite string at Timarpur in North Delhi. The boy was going to the market to get some summer cooler equipment on Monday evening. As he was riding back home on his bike, his neck was cut by a sharp manjha ( string) . The police was immediately informed. He was soon rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his grievous injuries.
The deceased was later identified as Ravi, a resident of Yograj Colony, Gandhi Vihar in Timarpur. When the police reached the spot they found a black colour string with traces of blood on it. The police had seized the string found on the road.
Several human loss of life has also been reported from various parts of the country because of the Chinese manjha. The dangerous part is the manjha is glass coated and cause grievous injury if the victim is moving in high speed.
