Kidnapped boy reunited with family

New Delhi: The PCR unit of Delhi Police on Sunday claimed that they have reunited a kidnapped child with his family.

According to police in the intervening night of November 2-3 , the PCR Mobile Patrol Van staff comprising of assistant sub inspector Subhash Chand and constable Shekhar were patrolling near Ghitorni Gaon Metro Station.

They noticed a boy aged around 10-12 years old in distress condition wandering alone on the road.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (PCR) Sharat Sinha said that the Mobile Patrol Van staff approached the child and consoled him.

After enquiry, the boy told that when he was returning from tuition in the evening, suddenly three persons kidnapped and took him away. Later on, they dropped him in Nathupura village and fled.

"Based on information provided by the boy, his parents were contacted on telephone. They confirmed the incident and told that in this regard a case was registered at Vasant Kunj South police station," said DCP Sinha.

He further added that PCR staff has displayed alertness, keen sense of observation and professionalism and recovered and reunited a kidnapped child to his family.

Delhi Police Control Room (PCR) unit, in the year 2019 (till August), came to the aid of more than 300 distressed people.

As many as 114 persons including children were rescued by PCR unit. These distressed people were either missing or found roaming on the road. The data further revealed that 17 persons were saved by cops who tried to commit suicide.

As many as 44 people were rescued from drowning, fire and natural calamity. Several injured people were shifted to hospital.

Two criminals held

Delhi Police on Sunday said that they have arrested two people involved in cases of snatching and robbery in different parts of the city. Police identified the accused as Manish and Keshav. On October 2, both were apprehended on secret information that they would come near Madipur. From their cursory search, two-button actuated knife and six robbed or stolen mobile phones were recovered.
