Khattar meets martyr's family, assures all support

Gurugram: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday morning visited martyr Captain Kapil
Kundu's house in Ransika Pataudi and paid his condolences to the aggrieved family. The Chief Minister assured Sunita Kundu, the mother of late 22-year-old Army officer that his government would take all essential steps to take care of her and the Kundu family.
Besides providing a financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh, the Chief Minister also assured that a project in remembrance of the young soldier will also be initiated by the government.
"I want to pay my respects to the brave son who sacrificed his life in defending the country. I also bow down to his strong mother who displayed extreme courage in letting her son join the Indian Arm and defend the country. The state government will also leave no stone unturned in taking care of the family. As per the guidelines, we are also looking into providing the kin of the deceased a government job, said the Chief Minister.
At age of 22, when people take early steps for making their future, Captain Kapil Kundu, the Indian Army officer of 55 Jammu Kashmir light infantry unit was martyred defending his land. Being the youngest among the sibling of two sisters namely Kajal and Sonia, Captain Kundu lost his father eight years ago. He had the responsibility of taking care of not only his two sisters but also his widow mother Sunita Kundu and his grandfather Rati Ram. Despite personal responsibilities, he never let his dream fade away and his hard work led him to get selected in the National Defence Academy in 2016. On January 26, 2016, Kapil was promoted from the rank of lieutenant to captain and on January 4 this year, he died fighting for the country.
