Kenyan woman staged attack, no locals involved: Police

The assault on Kenyan woman registered in Greater Noida took a fresh twist on Thursday when the cops stated that the woman had staged the racial attack and no locals were involved.

"The lady was depressed because of personal issues and had cooked up the attack," said Dharmandra Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, Gautam Buddh Nagar.
The 24-year-old, Maria Burendi, had claimed that she has been allegedly assaulted by some unidentified men while she was going to her friend's home on Wednesday morning.

Following this, the Association of African student's welfare intervened into the matter and revealed that the woman actually had a fight with her African friends but framed the case as a racial attack.

"We received a Whatsapp message from Charles Kennedy, a representative from Association of African student's welfare, apologising for the fact that Kenyan woman was not in a stable mental state and has 'cooked-up' a story of the attack", Dharmendra Singh said.

He also stated that the cops had interrogated the cab driver who denied any such attack. "The driver revealed that he dropped her safely to the destination at Omicron-1A society in Greater Noida. The GPS movement of the car was also tracked which show that the cab was not stopped anywhere during the journey. The lady had been lying about the alleged attack and had been constantly changing her statements," added Singh.

The representatives from Association of African student's welfare apologised after the incident and showed satisfaction with the police investigations.
The police denied registering any case against the woman in order to maintain peace.

The cab driver, Pintu, "I dropped her safely to Omicron society. I kept waiting outside the society for a new ride and no casualty happened to the woman in front of me".
Franklin, a representative from the Kenyan embassy said, "We regret the inconvenience. We are satisfied with the police investigation into the matter. We hope that
the present conditions of the city are likely to come under control with the efforts of the police".
