Jewar airport: Six firms meet YEIDA to make financial bid for feasibility report

GREATER NOIDA: In a bid to expedite construction of the much awaited international airport at Jewar in Greater Noida, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on Monday held a meeting with six companies who came forward for the financial bid of the Techno-Economic Feasibility report (TEFR), officials of the Authority said.
According to YEIDA officials, the six companies include Engineers India Ltd, KPMG Advisory Services Pvt Ltd, Jones Lang LaSalle Property Consultancy, PricewaterhouseCoopers Pvt Ltd, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Ltd and CBRE South Asia Pvt Ltd.
"Six companies have expressed their desire to prepare the TEFR for Jewar airport. We are going to check the eligibility.
"A technical presentation will be given by the eligible companies on December 27, following which the Financial Bid will be open on December 29" said Shailendra Bhatia, officer on special duty (OSD), YEIDA.
The OSD further said that the process for completing proceedings under Section 11 (formerly Section 4) of the Land Acquisition Act has been completed and a report of the same has been sent to the district administration.
"The farmers will be paid compensation as per the Act and will also be rehabilitated as per the norms," Bhatia said.
For the first phase of the 3,000-hectare four-phase project, YEIDA has to acquire 1,387 hectare of land across eight villages.
The meeting was chaired by the OSD and attended by General Manager (Planning), General Manager (Project), General Manager (Finance), General Manager (Engineering).
Key infrastructure development group from Airports Authority of India participated in the bid committee meeting.
