'Jai-Veeru' of crime nabbed

New Delhi: Delhi Police arrested two persons from Dwarka district who are involved in cases of snatching and auto lifting. Police claimed that both are childhood friends and are known as "Jai-Veeru" among area criminals. They were nabbed by the team of Special Staff (Dwarka) on August 18 from old Kakrola road. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse stated that the accused identified as Ajay alias Jay and Balraj alias Veeru. Both used to go out on snatching sprees on the seized motorcycle and return with gold chains which were sold by them at throwaway prices to fund their addiction. "Jay is the high-speed biker and can ride at speed of more than 120 kmph which helps them to disappear in seconds before complainants and victims catch their glimpses," added the DCP. He further added that both are friends since teenage and joined together and carry out snatchings together so that they can retain entire booty without distribution to others. They stole the high-speed bikes for quick snatchings.
