IRCTC rejects report on RTI denial, calls claims ‘misleading’

New Delhi: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has issued a clarification disputing a news report that claimed the Central Information Commission (CIC) pulled it up for denying RTI data on CBI and ED cases linked to tenders.

In a letter dated April 6, 2026, IRCTC said the report was “incorrect and highly misleading,” noting that the requested information was exempt under Section 8(d) of the RTI Act. The corporation added that, following CIC directions, it had already provided a fresh response to the applicant.
