Involved in 28 criminal cases, man nabbed from Rohini

New Delhi: A criminal involved in 28 criminal cases, including rape, was arrested from Rohini Sector-29. Police claimed that he was also the mastermind in a sensational broad daylight robbery at Murga Mandi, Gazipur.

The accused was identified as Chander Prakash, who was involved in a robbery which took place on May 28 at Murga Mandi in the area of Gazipur police station.

In this incident, criminals had robbed Rs 17 lakh from the office of a poultry product supplier at gunpoint.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Pankaj Singh on Monday stated that Prakash used to help gang members by providing them with the place to stay and stolen vehicles to be used in the crime.

He is a 'bad character' of Sultanpuri police station and used to collect information through his sources about the places and persons where cash in bulk may be available and after gathering concrete information. He also used to plan robberies with the help of the gang members.

Cops said that Prakash used to keep in touch with notorious gangsters and after getting information about huge cash at a particular place, he would execute his plans with their help. He did the same in the robbery at Murga Mandi and was planning to execute another similar incident in Rohini.
