Intelligence Bureau alerts Delhi Police about security vulnerabilities

New Delhi: Intelligence Bureau (IB) has alerted the Delhi Police regarding the vulnerability found in one of their applications and suggested them to conduct a security audit. Sources said that to tackle the threat, a road map for conducting a regular security audit of Delhi Police infrastructure has been prepared and submitted to the Aditional CP rank officer for consideration.

According to sources, during a meeting related to State Empowered Committee for Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) project, the input given by IB was discussed between senior officers of Delhi Police. It was suggested by IB to carry out a regular and meaningful security audit of entire ICT systems with auditors and testers.

Sources further said that a proposal to establish Security Operation Centre (SOC) under Crime and CCTNS Delhi has already been sent to MHA after assessment of IT infrastructure of CCTNS and SCRB. "The proposal is under consideration at MHA," sources said

During the meeting, State Empowered Committee told meeting attendees that SOC proposal for security and safety of critical infrastructure of Delhi Police already pending with MHA shall be pursued for expeditious decision.
