In Dadri, AAP's Sanjay Chechi's focus on addressing homebuyers' concerns

As Uttar Pradesh goes to polls in less than a week's time, the Aam Aadmi Party is campaigning aggressively in Western UP, where in areas like Greater Noida, primary concerns of voters include registry and maintenance issues, farmers' compensation and better transport connectivity. Millennium Post's Rahul Singh caught up with AAP's Dadri candidate, Sanjay Chechi, who is primarily focusing on homebuyers' issues on his campaign.
Excerpts:
The home buyers of various residential societies in Greater Noida West have been left in the lurch by previous governments. With lack of basic amenities to registry of their homes, they are still left ignored. How will you take up their issues?
Despite strict warnings and statements from High Courts and even the Supreme Court, there has not been any concrete policies towards the real-estate sector. RERA is not the only solution. A regulatory committee must be there to bridge the gap between a builder and consumers. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) would bring forth concrete policies which will strengthen the real-estate sector and would make it more transparent. Also, we would work upon providing safer modes of transportation in the area keeping in mind the needs of daily office goers and other commuters. This will include extension of metro train to Greno west area along with providing a proper bus connectivity.
How will you deal with the unauthorised residential colonies and commercial complexes coming up in Greater Noida which not only dupes innocent buyers/investors
but also risks lives of those living in them?
If we come to power, then we will ensure that the people who have suffered get their funds back through proper and legal channels. The problem is lack of transparency and absence of any regulatory body. These practices have been going on from many decades and nobody put a stop on it, maybe, there are personal reasons but it is affecting lives of so many.
Farmers in Greater Noida are raising their demands for past many years for compensation (For land taken over for infra projects) but nothing concrete has come their way. How will you take up farmer's issues?
The BJP-led government has only benefitted the millionaires while the farmers and middle-class have constantly been exploited by them. Each year they give fake promises and have failed to accomplish even one. The rate of unemployment is at an all-time high. There are no jobs for the youth and when it comes to compensation there are just empty promises. We will make sure to open communication channel with farmers and resolve every issue with proper understanding.
A few villages are being developed into smart villages but a majority of them have no proper roads, drainage system, sewer lines and other basic amenities. What are you promising for the development of villages in Greater Noida?
Where is the development? I don't see it. Other than the areas with high-rise buildings or highways, if you enter any village you can see that they don't even have proper roads. There are open nallas, is this what you call a proper living standard? AAP would make sure to improve the basic infrastructure with proper planning.
AAP government in Delhi boasts of education and healthcare leaps but there are no government schos or hospitals in Greater Noida West despite a population of
over 2 lakh. What can voters here expect from you?
Greater Noida is a vast area and needs a lot of reform but political parties who only runs on a single point agenda won't benefit the common man of this area. Our policy has always been to create a strengthened society and that can only come through effective infrastructure. AAP would bring the much needed change with its advanced policies. AAP's Delhi-model has been a very successful example of governance. Just like Delhi policy, we will have Dadri policy which will be an example for everyone.
What new and different from other governments, you promise to the people of Greater Noida?
A common man only wants a decent living standard. A good and safe society to live in, quality education for
"children and better amenities. 'Roti, Kapda aur Makaan' has always been and will be the core issue of every common man. Resolving the discrepancies and providing the basic is from where AAP starts it work.
