Illegal autos to be lifted from July 8

New Delhi: The Noida administration on Friday announced that it will seize unregistered auto-rickshaws and three wheelers causing congestion on city roads and deploy cameras at crucial junctions to identify and penalise offenders. 10 cameras will be placed at crucial junctions in the city to monitor roads during peak hours and identify offenders and nature of violations, DM Brajesh Narain Singh said.

10 private people working under the supervision of the Road Transport Office and the Traffic Police will handle these cameras, while two others will be deployed at different places in the city, based on requirement, he added.

The administration will deploy vehicles to tow away such vehicles from July 8 to be dumped in a yard at Sector 62 till due process is complete, he said. Details of offenders will also be shared on social media platforms, Singh said. The objective is to appeal to the people to bring about a positive change in their mindset and make them understand not to violate rules, he said.
