ICC judge lauds model night shelters in city

NEW DELHI: Justice Dalveer Bhandari of the International Court of Justice, Hague on Saturday night visited model night shelters equipped with Mohalla Clinics at Sarai Kale Khan and appreciated the arrangement as being worth emulating at various places, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said.
At present, 83 shelters are equipped with geysers, while many others are furnished with electricity and TV sets.
The Delhi government runs 251 night shelters across the city, with 83 of them housed in permanent buildings and 113 operated out of porta-cabins.
The government has taken many initiatives to provide quality atmosphere at the shelters, which includes providing 'tea and rusk' for breakfast, free of cost, to residents of from Saturday, till the end of January.
