Husband, wife commit suicide in SE Delhi
New Delhi: A husband-wife allegedly committed suicide in Govindpuri area of South East Delhi on Sunday. Police claimed that an alleged suicide note was recovered from the spot in which they did not blame anyone. According to police, they received a PCR call at 2:35 pm about suicide by husband-wife in Tughlakabad Extension. On reaching the spot, the door was found closed from inside and the bulbs inside the house were switched on.
"On looking from ventilator one could see two different people hanging from fans in two different rooms," said police.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Chinmoy Biswal stated that on breaking the door open in front of crime team it was found that one male had committed suicide in the outer room by hanging himself using a towel from the fan whereas in another room body of a lady was found hanging with the help of chunni. On inquiry, the deceased man was identified as Deepak (28) and his wife as Mamta (28).
The couple has two kids aged 11 and 8 years. Bodies have been sent to the mortuary. Further investigation under section 174 CrPc is on.
