Humidity up to 90% as rains lash Capital
NEW DELHI: Rains lashed parts of the national Capital on Thursday morning, causing the humidity level to shoot up to 90 per cent.
"The minimum temperature recorded at 8.30 am was 27.2 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal. The humidity level was recorded at 90 percent," an official of the Meteorological Department said.
The weatherman has predicted a cloudy day with the possibility of light rains towards the evening.
The mercury is expected to settle around 35 degrees Celsius, the MeT reported said.
Among 24 different places, water-logging was reported from National Highway-24 near Murga Market, Chatta Rail Bridge, under Modi Mill flyover and Mundka Metro station on Rohtak Road.
The water-logging also caused traffic snarls in various parts, including Punjabi Bagh flyover, Sarai Kale Khan, Satyabhama Hospital Najafgarh Road, Ghazipur, and SDM office near Shakarpur.
The MeT has forecast a decline in maximum temperature in the next three days due to light showers. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be 34 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively.
