Higher voting percentage in Rewari led to increase in victory margin of BJP
Gurugram: For the fifth time Rao Inderjit will represent Gurugram in the Indian Parliament. At around 9 pm, Rao Inderjit Singh had got 8,81,546 votes while his rival Captain Ajay Singh Yadav got 4,95,290 votes and the victory margin was over three lakh fifty thousand votes.
Initially, the victory was not believed to be easy for incumbent Rao Inderit, who was competing against the six time MLA from Rewari .
Moreover, the 69-year-old candidate from BJP had already expressed his concerns of how he will get low voting percentage from Mewat which in actual he did .
To counter the decline in perenctage of votes from Mewat, Rao Inderjit made sure that he focused on his strong belts of Rewari and Bawal and his effort paid off well as the voting percentage in these areas was more than that of the district in Mewat.
To undersand the significance of Mewat in the Gurugram constituency, maximum number of candidates were fielded from the region.
Moreover, Captain Yadav till mid afternoon made rounds at different voting centres in the area to make sure that his voting percentage increase.
In all the election campaigns, the four time MP made sure that his supporters should come in maximum numbers because he knew that he will get lower votes in the areas of Mewat.
It all paid off as maximum voting was registered from the regions of Bawal at 75.64 per cent, Rewari at 70.64 per
cent.
At 64, Badshapur registered the lowest voting percentage in the nine Vidhan Sabha areas which are there in Gurugram. Interesting the areas of Mewat that had led the polls in 2014 was left behind the areas of Rewari and
Bawal.
The BJP strategy of playing on the national issues along with the revamping of infrastructure resulted in the saffron party leading in the Gururam urban areas which for the first time matched with the rural voters.
Those booths in Gururgam urban areas which used to have the voting percentage of 40 percent did well with 50 to 60 percent voting percentage. As far as the trends most of the votes went to the saffron party.
