Heroin worth Rs 5 cr seized, two Africans nabbed

NEW DELHI: Narcotics cell of crime branch has arrested two African national drug trafficers involved in supply of heroin in Delhi and Punjab.

Crime branch has recovered 3.5 kg of fine quality heroin worth 5 crores in the international market.

Both the accused came to India on a business visa and started to ilelgaly supply heroin along with female associates from Northeast India.

The accused have been identified as Lucky Joseph and Charles both residents of Nigeria. Police received secret information was received that a Nigerian National Joe Lala and his associate Charles were involved in supply of heroin in Delhi and Punjab.

It was learnt that he would come to supply a big consignment of heroin at Uttam Nagar, Delhi. A trap was laid and on April 28 morning, Lucky Joseph alias Lala was apprehended in near Uttam Nagar, Delhi.

500 grams of Heroin was recovered from his possession. At his instance raid was conducted at their house in Bhagwati Garden Extension Uttam Nagar and Charles was apprehended. 3 kgs of heroin was recovered from Charles.

"During interrogation, both accused disclosed that they procured heroin from a fellow national. They also disclosed that their associate used to procure heroin from Afghanistan through his female associates belonging to a North-Eastern state of India," said AK singla, DCP Crime.
