Heroin worth Rs 200 cr seized, 4 held
NEW DELHI: Delhi Police Special cell has arrested four key players of an Inter-state narcotic drug cartel, including their kingpin. 50 kilograms of fine quality heroin worth more than Rs 200 crore in international market recovered.
Apart from that, two cars (Swift Dzire & Creta) used in transporting drugs were also seized. Mobile handsets with SIM Cards used in drug trafficking have also been recovered. The accused have been identified as Mohd. Sufiyan, Mohd. Ismail, Manoj Kumar Das and Hashim.
"Members of this cartel used to bring high-grade heroin from suppliers of Manipur who actually collects the raw material from hilly areas around the international border of Manipur and Myanmar, to finally prepare the fine quality heroin. This information was further developed through technical as well as manual surveillance. It took about 4/5 months of painstaking efforts to ripen the said information. During this process, members of this cartel were identified and their activities were kept under discreet surveillance," said Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, DCP Special Cell.
Mohd Ismail and Mohd.Sufiyan disclosed that they have been indulged in trafficking of narcotic drugs upon being lured by Manoj of Barauni, Bihar for last about 4-5 years.
They also disclosed that they used to work as carrier for Manoj and received supply of heroin from Kabir as per his direction.
They used to travel in their car upto hilly areas of Manipur and Assam especially Imphal to procure heroin from Kabir on the directions of Manoj. Mohd Ismail further disclosed that Manoj used to communicate with Kabir and direct him to receive a supply of heroin from Kabir at various places in Manipur. To avoid to being detected by law enforcement agencies he used to hide the packets of heroin in secret cavities designed inside the car.
Both also disclosed that they also used to supply heroin to contacts of Manoj like Hashim in Amethi and other contacts in Delhi and NCR and Bihar as per his direction. They made secret cavities inside the dikki and in front cabin area of their Maruti Swift car to hide the heroin packets to dodge the law enforcement agencies.
