Headless body found in North Delhi
New Delhi: A headless body of a man was found inside a travel bag near Khalsa college in North Delhi. Police claimed that the hand was also missing and they have started the investigation for the identification of accused.
According to police, they received a PCR call about a abandoned bag lying nearby the DU college in Mal road area. The cops found a headless body of a male, suspected in his late 20s.
"Head and hand were missing. A probe has been started to identify the deceased," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Nupur Prasad adding that no marks like the tattoo were found on the body.
Police suspect that the deceased was murder somewhere else and then the killers dumped the body here to dodge police investigation.
"The probe being done from several different angles," police said adding that they are also searching for the remaining parts of the body.
The CCTV footage of the area nearby the spot is scanned and police are also checking the missing complaints registered in nearby police stations. A case has been registered in this regard. According to Delhi Police, around 409 unidentified dead bodies were recovered from different parts of National Capital from January 1 to February 28, 2018,.
In the last three years, National Capital have seen more than 8000 unidentified dead bodies in the different areas.
The police data accessed by Millennium Post found that in three years (2015 to 2017) 8486 dead bodies were recovered from different parts of national Capital. The year 2015 witnessed 3063 dead bodies, whereas in 2016, more than three thousand dead bodies were recovered. The last year saw 2415 dead bodies till November.
