Gurugram to have new railway terminal to ease Delhi load: Prabhu

Work on this project would soon be started, Prabhu said in this Haryana town, 70 km from New Delhi.

Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu on Tuesday said a new railway terminal, equipped with world-class facilities, would be set up in Gurugram to reduce mounting pressure on Delhi due to an increase in number of trains coming to it from different parts of the country.

Work on this project would soon be started, Prabhu said in this Haryana town, 70 km from New Delhi.

Addressing a function organised by Northern Railways here to dedicate a newly-electrified rail section between Rohtak and Jind, the minister said that the Rohtak railway station would be developed as a model station in public-private-partnership (PPP) mode.
