Gurugram assembly seats: Over 100 candidates from diverse backgrounds file nominations

Gurugram: A list of over 100 candidates have filed their nominations for the four Vidhan Sabha seats in Gurugram which includes Badshahpur, Gurugram city, Pataudi and Sohna. Just like the Lok Sabha elections the Vidhan sabha elections have also seen a lot of nominees with diverse professional backgrounds.

A majority of the candidates have their own businesses and have assets worth crores because of their investment in commercial and residential properties, agricultural land in and around Gurugram, Delhi and Rajasthan along with the range of expensive vehicles.

There are also nominees who have service backgrounds and have worked as engineers, advocates and even in defense forces. The majority of the crorepati candidates have come from the largest constituency of Gurugram Vidhan sabha seat of Badshahpur.

Among the rich candidates, Rakesh Jhangu who is contesting as an independent may not have completed his higher education but has assets that are pegged at over 100 crores. Jhangu has an investment in over fourteen commercial and residential properties in Gururgam. He has also had a range of expensive sedans and SUVs.

The cars which he owns include Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Innova, Skoda Rapid, Hyundai Creta, Hyundai Santro and 2014 Land Rover model which is pegged at Rs 95

lakh.

Manish Yadav from the BJP who runs his own business of real estate has a range of commercial investments at posh MG road and owns two residential plots in DLF Phase-2. Besides this, he also owns an agricultural plot at Farrukhnagar Jhirka.

Another information comes from the front Madan Grover who had earlier lobbied hard to fight from the BJP seat but is now contesting as an independent. Aged 26, Grover owns two cars that include a Hyundai Creta pegged at Rs 14.5 lakh and a Mercedez Benz that has a value of Rs 78.8 lakh. In Sohna Indu who is fighting an independent candidate may have Rs 10,000 as cash in hand but owns an Audi car pegged at Rs 28 lakhs.

It is not only about riches but also people of humble backgrounds also trying their luck at the assembly elections Satyapraksh Jarawata who is representing BJP from Pataudi seat does now own any vehicle.

Similarly, Sushil who is fighting Pataudi's seat from BSP has a Maruti Omni van and a Honda Activa scooter. Sukhbir Tanwar from INLD, on the other hand, owns a Mahindra Bolero that is valued at Rs seven crores.
