Greater Noida authority's 116th board meeting held

Greater Noida: In a bid to provide growth to industrial sector in the city, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) will implement 'Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy', an initiative of the Uttar Pradesh government for industrial growth in the state, said officials on Friday.

According to a senior GNIDA officer, the authority will mark around 1500 acres of land in the city for the purpose. "The authority is in the process of acquiring undisputed lands from farmers and land owners from around 16 villages across the city. Four industrial sectors will be developed on the land and opportunities will be given to national as well as international companies to set up their unit. This will not only provide industrial growth in the city but will also create employment opportunities," said a senior GNIDA officer.

The decision was taken in GNIDA's 116th board meeting held on Friday which was chaired by the authority's chair person, Alok Tandon. GNIDA Chief Executive Officer, Narendra Bhooshan, Noida authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari also participated in the meeting along with other senior authority officials.

Apart from this, the board also approved a new bridge on Hindon river connecting Knowledge Park-III in Greater Noida to Noida sector 146/147. Officials said that the construction of the bridge will be done by Uttar Pradesh Bridge Corporation Limited (UPBCL). "It is been noticed that the flow of traffic remains heavy at pari Chowk in peak hours which lead to traffic snarl. Once the new bridge is constructed it will ease traffic flow and most of the vehicles can be diverted through LG Chowk to knowledge park-III," the officer added.

Aiming to provide a good governance, the board also approved proposal to implement Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in the authority.

"The ERP system will benefit the allottees and farmers and will also bring transparency into the work culture," the officer said.
