Golf Meet in Gurugram to woo foreign investors
Gurugram: Haryana government now plans to use the game of Golf to woo foreign investors.
Under this initiative, it will organise an 'India Korea Golf Meet' in Gurugram on July 19 to improve business relations with Korean Investors. CEOs of 25 Korean companies and representatives of embassy expected to participate.
This is just one of the events which are in pipeline, to reduce the cost various events are slated to be held where foreign investors will be wooed to invest in Gurugram.
South Korea and Japan are the leading foreign investors in Gururgam.
Most of the foreign executives are already the members of top Golf clubs in the city.
Gurugram today possesses not only the leading golf courses in the country but in the world.
The DLF Golf and Country Club where most of the international golfing events are already being held is also now hosting the Indian Open that is held during March every year.
It is important to note that even though the Korean companies first invested in Gurugram, off- late they have begun to look towards Noida for investment with Samsung opening one of its largest factories in the township.
A lot of foreign BPO'S and KPO's are also now shifting their units from Gurugram to Noida. To give other emerging cities Haryana government has already announced that it will be creating two new townships around Gurugram.
After announcing that Panchgram a new city roughly of the size of Chandigarh will be set up around the Kundali-Manesar-Palwal expressway, the state government announced one more city.
Named the Global city the new urban settlement will be created by the public agencies in Gurugram near the Dwarka Expressway and will be spread around the areas of 1,002 acres.
The Haryana government expect that a new form of investment will come into the city not only from the multinational companies but also from various startups and new micro small scale medium industries. In the past, the state government has achieved success with setting up of Udyog Vihar which are divided into six phases in Gururgam.
Taking the cue from the growth mode of South Korea and Japan that emphasized the development of infrastructure especially its roads and highways, the Central and the state government are adopting the same model of growth.
