GGSIPU unveils new logo on silver jubilee

New Delhi: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) concluded its Silver Jubilee celebrations with a grand event that highlighted the university’s achievements and its future vision. The ceremony, held in the presence of distinguished guests including Lt. Governor of Delhi, VK Saxena, marked a significant milestone in the university’s journey. The occasion featured the unveiling of GGSIPU’s new logo, the release of a commemorative silver jubilee postal stamp and coin, and the launch of the strategic vision document, Vision@2047 Roadmap.
A key announcement during the event was the introduction of a Dual Degree program in Master of Science in Digital Production for Sustainable Manufacturing, in collaboration with AGH University of Krakow, Poland. This innovative program allows students to study for two semesters in Poland and two in India while paying only Indian tuition fees, making international education more affordable and accessible. Further expanding its global footprint, the university also revealed plans to establish an offshore campus in the Republic of Guinea, enhancing its international presence.
In his address, Saxena praised GGSIPU’s growth and its contribution to education and society. He emphasised the importance of global partnerships and the promotion of the Indian Knowledge System, while encouraging students to embody the values of wisdom, courage, and justice, inspired by Guru Gobind Singh.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Mahesh Verma shared insights into the university’s expansion, noting that GGSIPU now offers 190 academic programs across 40 disciplines, catering to over 1.13 lakh students. He also highlighted new initiatives, including a sports quota, single-girl child seats, and an incubation fund to foster innovation. The event also saw the inauguration of several new facilities, including a 1,000-seat amphitheater, an industrial robotics lab, a TV studio, and a community radio station, further enhancing the campus infrastructure.
