GDA seals 11 buildings, razes 10 illegal structures
Ghaziabad: Continuing their sealing drive against illegally-constructed buildings across the district, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) on Wednesday sealed 11 buildings that were constructed illegally and were found flouting construction guidelines. Amid their drive, the authority also demolished 10 illegal constructions in various posh localities of the district.
V K Singh, Officer on Special Duty, GDA, said that the team of GDA officials sealed 11 buildings out of which seven buildings were sealed in Modinagar, two buildings in Makanpur/Indirapuram, and two buildings in Hindon Vihar areas.
Singh further added that more than two dozens jhuggis were removed from the road located in Nitikhand-I, near Jain Mandir.
Among the buildings that were demolished, two illegal buildings were removed in Mussoorie area, one in Kavinagar, two in Vijay Nagar, one in Indirapuram, two in Sahibabad and two in Tronica City area, added the OSD.
The authority had been continuously undertaking the sealing drive since the fatal five-storey building collapse incident in Ghaziabad's Akash Nagar area early in late last month. Till now, the GDA has sealed 399 buildings in all the eight zones falling under the GDA in Ghaziabad. Notices have been issued to the owners of these illegal constrictions as these buildings were suspected to be unsafe.
