GDA demolishes eight illegal structures
Ghaziabad: Continuing the second phase of its massive demolition drive for the second day, Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) on Tuesday, demolished eight illegal buildings/structures in the city that were constructed without approval and in violation of construction guidelines.
"The Authority has marked illegally built structures across the district and a massive drive is underway to bring down all these structures.
"On Tuesday, the Authority teams brought down eight illegal buildings across three police stations in the city," said VK Singh, officer on special duty (OSD), GDA.
GDA officials said that two illegally constructed buildings, a road and some poles were razed in Muradnagar area, two other buildings were demolished in Ghaziabad City, and four buildings were brought down in Sahibabad area.
Meanwhile, GDA vice-chairperson Ritu Maheshwari said that the drive is also focused on errant builders who have constructed illegal colonies in the district which lack construction quality and risk lives of the inhabitants.
"We have planned to identify illegal colonies in the district and make them public on the Authority's website. ," Maheshwari said.
