GBN police seeks remand of Earth Infratech's director

Noida/Greater Noida: Following the arrest of the director of Earth Infratech Private Ltd on Monday evening by Delhi police, the Gautam Buddh Nagar crime branch are also completing their legal formalities in court in order to seek remand of the accused and interrogate him in all the cases registered against him in the district.
"We are completing the legal formalities in district court seeking warrants in all the cases registered against him in various police stations around the district. Once the formalities are complete, actions will be followed. We will also ask the court for remand of the accused in all these cases," said a senior police officer of Gautam Buddh Nagar police. Vikas Gupta was apprehended from a hotel at Delhi's Aerocity on Monday evening in connection with allegedly duping thousands of home buyers in Noida and Greater Noida. Police said that four FIRs of cheating, producing fake documents and other charges are registered against him in different police stations of Noida and Greater Noida.
"Three cases have been registered against him in Sector-20 police station of Noida while one case is registered against him in Bisrakh police station of Greater Noida. All these cases are registered under IPC sections 420, 471, 467, 468, 504 and 506" the officer added. On Tuesday, Gupta was produced before the court which remanded him in police custody for two days to Delhi police.
Meanwhile, the buyers who have been cheated by the builder's group praised the police for their efforts and said that if the police had not made the arrest, Gupta would have escaped abroad duping all their hard-earned money.
