GB Nagar, Gzb district admins assure door-to-door delivery of essentials
GB Nagar/Ghaziabad: Both the administrations of Gautam Buddh Nagar and Ghaziabad district have appealed to the people not to spread any rumour of curfew as the new announcement of sealing the district is applicable only to the hotspots identified. Officials said that door-to-door delivery of groceries and other essential items will be ensured in these areas and the residents need not panic.
"There is no need to panic-buy essential commodities. The hotspots identified in the district will be sealed and home delivery of essential commodities and services shall be available at all places. We shall take strict action against rumour monger," said Suhas LY, district magistrate, Gautam Buddh Nagar.
The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday said all COVID-19 hotspots in 15 districts will be sealed. As a result, the administration of the two districts Gautam Buddh Nagar and Ghaziabad, where a higher number of Covid-19 positive cases have been found, were included in the list. Panic triggered among the residents with people thronging nearby markets to stock essential goods. However, the administration and authorities have assured people a hassle free doorstep delivery of commodities in all the areas.
"People living in and around the hotspot areas are much vulnerable of getting infected by Coronavirus, so the government has decided to completely seal these hotspots with stoppage of any movement by the people till next orders. Items of all the essential needs will be delivered to their homes while an intensified sanitation drive will be carried out around these hotspots," said Narendra Bhooshan, CEO, Greater Noida authority and nodal officer for Covid-19.
In Gautam Buddh Nagar, the district administration has identified 22 hotspots while there are 13 such hotspots in Ghaziabad district. The Noida authority has issued a helpline number — 8860032939 and NOIDA app to order groceries and other items of essential needs while residents of Greater Noida may call at Greater Noida authority's helpline numbers: 8800203912 (WhatsApp) and 0120-2336046, 47, 48, 49 for any type of queries related to delivery of essential needs. Apart from this, district police have roped in 200 vehicles for providing ration and essential to the residents and the orders can be placed by dialing 112 police helpline number. Similarly in Ghaziabad, the district administration is
managing delivery of essentials and medicines to every nook and corner of the district through their helpline number 0120-2829040.
