GB Nagar cops initiates 'Operation Clean 4', seize 72 buses
G B Nagar: A day after Gautam Buddh Nagar police seized over a thousand auto rickshaws and issued challans to nearly five hundred autos for traffic violations, the police, on Thursday, initiated "Operation Clean 4" against private tourist buses and seized 72 buses from various parts of the district.
Officials said that the action is taken against such buses which are operating illegally in the district and don't fulfill the legal standards.
According to police, the drive was initiated between 5 AM to 8 PM under which an intense checking was carried out at zero point on Yamuna Expressway, Parichowk and Chilla border area.
Vaibhav Krishna, Senior Superintendent of Police, Gautam Buddh Nagar said that the "Operation Clean" drive is focused to curb on any illegal activity that is undergoing in the district.
"The Operation Clean is a series of drives against all the illegal activities be it encroachment, prostitution or illegally operating public transport vehicles. Thursday's drive was against the private tourist buses under which police found 73 buses to have been plying without adhering to the legal standards. We have seized such buses while the passengers ferrying in these buses were escorted by nearly 25 other roadways buses which were hired by the administration," said Krishna. The officer further said that the operation clean will continue and police will act strict against all the illegal activities in the
district.
