Gautam Buddh Nagar reports 3 new cases; recovery rate is 62%

GB Nagar: Gautam Buddh Nagar district, which had at one time, reported most number of positive Covid-19 cases among all the districts of Uttar Pradesh in the initial days has now emerged as a district with highest recovery rate when compared at state or national level. Officials said that, at present, the total number of Corona cases in the district are 115 out of which 71 persons have been completely cured while there are still 44 active cases and none of them are in serious condition.

With 12 positive patients getting completely cured and discharged from the hospital, on Sunday, the recovery rate of Corona positive patients in GB Nagar has raised to 61.7 per cent. It was also very encouraging to see three senior citizens from the age group 75 to 82 years with additional health issues of hypertension and diabetes getting recovered and discharged from hospital due to their strong immunity.

"Eight patients have discharged from GIMS and four patients from Child PGI hospital on Sunday. A total of 31 out of 35 positive cases admitted till Sunday in GIMS have been discharged taking the success rate of GIMS to nearly 90 percent. As none of the active cases at present are in a serious condition, we expect them to recover soon as well," said Suhas LY, District Magistrate, Gautam Buddh Nagar.

"Among those discharged on Sunday includes an 82-year-old woman and a six day old babyfrom a positive mother. Both the mother and baby are cured now. The effort and hard work of the doctors along with other paramedics who have been working day and night to cure people has made us achieve a milestone in our fight against corona virus. All the discharged patients have been advised to stay in home quarantine for the next 14 days," Suhas added.

Meanwhile, 3 new positive cases were reported on Sunday taking the total number to 115.
