Gangster with Rs 1 lakh on head nabbed after Noida encounter

New Delhi: A gun battle, which ended in just two minutes, resulted in the arrest of a criminal who received two gunshots in his legs. The team of Delhi Police Special Cell and Noida Police conducted the entire operation near Paramount Apartments roundabout in Greater Noida on Tuesday.

According to police, the accused was identified as Kishan Pal who was carrying a reward of Rs 1,00,000 declared by Commissioner of Police, Delhi upon his arrest in a murder case of a builder namely Vijay Yadav in Hauz Qazi police station area. Pal is previously involved in more than six cases of murder, kidnapping for ransom, armed dacoity, robbery in Delhi and UP.

"After a specific information, a trap was laid Kishan Pal near roundabout near Paramount Apartment in Greater Noida. The accused was spotted in his car. The vehicle was surrounded and both the occupants were asked to surrender. Kishan Pal, instead of surrendering, came out from the car and started

firing upon police party," said DCP (Special Cell) Pramod Singh Kushwah.

Kushwah further claimed that associate of Pal also fired upon police party and succeeded to escape from the spot. Members of police team returned the fire in self-defence. Pal got injured in his both feet. He received two gunshot injuries. The team of Police Station Bisrakh (Noida) was formed under the guidance of Ajay Pal Sharma senior superintendent of police. The Delhi Police special cell was led by ACP Attar Singh.

The accused was taken to hospital in Nithari, where he is recuperating. Investigators claimed that Pal started his criminal activities about 25 years ago. He along with his associates started committing robberies at gunpoint in Delhi and UP. Recently from Gazipur Murga Mandi in East Delhi, the accused robbed Rs. 18 lacs.

"Kishan Pal is a highly dreaded and ruthless criminal who immediately fires upon slightest provocation or resistance by victims. He is fond of keeping quality weapons with him. He is very expert in firing with two pistols at one time," DCP added.
