Ganga Water supply to be suspended in Noida, Gzb

Noida/Ghaziabad: The supply of Ganga water to Noida and Ghaziabad will be

suspended from Tuesday morning till Saturday evening because of the shut-down of Upper Ganga Canal in Haridwar due to excessive silt deposit after the heavy rains in Uttarakhand.

However, the two agencies — Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation and Noida Jal board — claimed that there will be no shortage in water supply.

"From Tuesday morning until August 4, water supply will remain suspended due to shut-down of Upper Ganga Canal in Haridwar. However, this will not create any crisis as we have reserved water but after that we will not be able to supply Ganga water for the said period but will continue the supply the boring water," said S C Mishra, senior project engineer, Noida Authority.
