Gang using high-end motorcycles busted
New Delhi: A criminal gang, which used high-end motorcycles to commit a crime in Delhi, was busted by Darya Ganj police station police with the arrest of Zikan (29), Shajid (22) and Raja (23) on July 16. On July 14, a PCR Call regarding a robbery on Geeta Colony flyover, Darya Ganj, was received. The complainant also came at the police station and informed that he was going to his work on his motorcycle. When he reached the spot of the incident, some boys came on a motorcycle and intercepted him. They allegedly robbed him of his purse containing Rs 4,000 cash and documents.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Mandeep Singh Randhawa stated that during the course of the investigation, CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity of the spot were analyzed but no fruitful result was obtained. An informer informed that those involved in the crime are likely to visit Mahavir Vatika.
Acting on the information, the police team swung into action and laid a trap, leading to the arrest. "One of the accused riding a KTM motorcycle was intercepted and overpowered. The accused was identified as Shajid.
On verification, the motorcycle was found to be robbed from the Anand Vihar area. At his instance, the co-accused were also arrested. Police claimed that the accused used high-end bikes so that after committing the crime they can flee the spot in no time and always remain ahead of the cops.
