Gang printed and sold fake toll tickets to make fast buck

New Delhi: They had been earning Rs 400 per day by selling fake toll plaza tickets to the auto drivers for several months but their illegal business finally came to an end on June 4 after the accused were nabbed from Noida. Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Pankaj Singh told Millennium Post that the accused were printing 10 to 20 fake toll tickets on daily basis and sold each of them for Rs 20 to the drivers and those who were using toll. In the fake ticket, name of South Delhi Municipal Corporation was written and the entry toll fee has been kept Rs 100.
The forged ticket had all the required details like date, time, operator ID, lane number, plaza, vehicle category. "The accused made sure that the ticket looks like the original one," said an investigator. He further added that the accused claimed that they had been doing the crime for last six months. Police claimed that on June 4, at about 3.00 pm, one person namely Ranveer was caught by Toll Plaza staff near Vasundhra Enclave, Delhi, who was trying to use fake MCD Toll Slip for passing through the toll plaza.
"During the course of the investigation, the detained person Ranveer disclosed that he can get his associate caught from whom he had received fake MCD Toll Tax slips," said the DCP.
At the instance of accused Ranveer, a raid was conducted at Jhuggi Sec- 18 Market Noida and one person Pankaj Yadav was apprehended and equipment used to make fake MCD Toll Slips were recovered from his jhuggi. An his instance, the other accused was nabbed. The Master Mind Pankaj Yadav disclosed that he is studying in BSc IInd year. To earn quick and more money, he planned to make fake MCD Toll Slips and he started to live in a jhuggi in Sec- 18 Noida. For printing fake slip, the accused purchased laptop, printers and other equipment and started to make fake MCD Toll Slips and used to sell those slips to taxi drivers. Police further claimed that the reason behind living in the cluster was the toll was nearby and there were chances that more drivers will come in their contact and they will earn more money. "One of the accused and suspected to be the kingpin is absconding; raid has been conducted to nab the accused," said the police official.
