Fuse bulb to faulty fridges, people feel heat amid lockdown

New Delhi: With temperature rising and a possible lockdown extension in the country the people are now feeling the heat of the closure of electrical shops both for repair and demand of electronic goods. This was high time for sales of electronic goods like fans, Air Conditioners and refrigerators but the lockdown had an adverse impact on the business of the electrical goods stores.

Danish , a Delhi resident tried hard to get a bulb after one of he four bulbs in his house got fused. However , with all electrical shops closed he replaced his drawing room bulb with that the fuse bulb of the kitchen until a local electrical shop owner gave him the bulb which was kept in his house.

Javed Mallik , a dealer of electrical goods in Zakir Nagar said that the electrical shops should be opened as people have genuine demands and the government should give a relaxation to electrical shops as with summers the AC , fridge and coolers too might be genuinely essential for general public.

"I am getting hundrerds of phone calls daily to supply or deliver AC, fridge and coolers. There is little I can do to help people. One of the family who called me said that they have a heart patient at home and desperately wanted an Air conditioner. I urge the government to take this into account and open up the electrical goods store with precautions," Mallik said. Another man said that his refrigerator compressor has developed some snag and now with no electrical repair shop opened it would be very difficult for him and his family without the refrigerator.

Many more has similar woes ranging from a faulty switch to kitchen mixer and washing machine snag.
