From drunken brawls to drug menace, Ggm glitzy pubs show their dark side
Gurugram: In terms of providing the best of services in the food and beverage business and entertainment, the pubs in Gurugram have created a perfect niche for itself. The popularity of the nightclubs in the city is to an extent that citizens always prefer the nightclubs in Gurugram to enjoy their nightlife.
Ever since the first pub that was opened in 2005, its growth has only been exponential. It is estimated that there are over 150 nightclubs in the city. Off -late the reporting of criminals activities from the nightclubs have led the anger to such an extent that a protest occurred in MG road last year for the closure of the pubs.
The controversy of the clubs again reignited in the wee hours of Monday when a girl alleged that she was molested in a pub at Sector-47. The incident did not stop there and there were reports her husband was also attacked with a beer bottle being broken on his head.
All this led to a violent brawl between two groups which was caught in the CCTV cameras. The scenario faced on Sunday is not a one-off incident and is just one of the few incidents that present a dark side of Gurugram pubs. Selling drugs and prostitution are some of the crimes reported.
The raids that have been conducted by Gurugram police in the past have not only led to Indian but also foreign women being arrested. The law enforcement officials have also arrested Afghans and Nigerians from the club under the charges of selling drugs.
Taking cognisance of the situation the Gurugram administration has been planning to implement stricter guidelines for the entry to the nightclubs in Gurugram especially
If all goes according to the plan so it will be mandatory for all the the party goes coming to the nightclubs to mark their entry through the biometric systems.
Further, the faces of all the customers will be scanned and fingerprints will be taken.
To deal with crimes like prostitution and sex racket that is prevalent in various nightclubs of the former Gurugram top cop KK Rao had directed the pubs and bars for restricted entry of women.
