Fringe areas prove safe havens for Ggn gangsters

Gurugram: The rescuing act of two Gurugram traders by Noida police has once again highlighted that how outside areas have become safe haven for the culprits to carry out their criminal activities. Not only are the burglars able to commit crimes fearlessly but weeks after committing such crimes, most of the gangsters remain successful in not being arrested by the Gurugram Police.

Ironically, the number of people in a group committing such heinous and dangerous crimes ranges from only 5 to 10 members. Yet, these gangs are able to outsmart more than 3,000 strong Gurugram Police regularly and are able to commit their criminal activities in the city and its surrounding areas.

According to sources in Gurugram Crime branch, there are various reasons involved why these gangs have been successful in their criminal activities. Police sources highlight that most of the gangs who carry out these activities are not from the city but are all from outside areas. Most of the dreaded gangs which have committed recent criminal activities in Gurugram have come from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Mewat highlight the Police officials. Further, sources also highlight that most of these gangs do not work with permanent gang members but replace it with alternate members after committing each crime so that the members do not get registered under the crime records.

The Police sources highlighted that the main Gurugram city continues to be the most sought areas for committing major criminal activities. But, off late most of the criminal gangsters are targeting areas of Sohna and Pataudi as these areas provide them an easy route for them to escape to areas of Uttar Pradesh and beyond through highways.
