Frenzied Metro commuters take selfies with PM, South Korean Prez

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with South Korean President Moon Jae-in took a ride in Delhi Metro on Monday, ahead of their visit to the Samsung plant in Noida.

Commuters were surprised to see the two leaders in the Metro and waved to them, while some posed for selfies.

A Delhi Metro spokesman said the Prime Minister travelled in Delhi Metro's Blue Line with the President of South Korea Moon, after boarding a Metro train at Mandi house at around 4.36 pm.

The two travelled up to Botanical Garden station on the Blue Line, leaving the station at 5.02 pm.

The two leaders then travelled back from Botanical Garden to Mandi House, boarding the Metro at 6.56 pm from Botanical Garden and leaving Mandi House at 7.21 pm.

He added that both the leaders travelled with tokens in a normal train, along with passengers, and there was no delay in services on the Blue Line due to their arrival.

This is not the first time when Prime Minister Modi has taken a foreign dignitary on a Metro ride.

Earlier, in April last year, the PM Modi took a Metro ride with his Australian counterpart Malcolm Turnbull. Before that, French President Francois Hollande also boarded metro for a ride while on his visit to the country in 2016.
