Four robbers held for trying to implicate cops in false case

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Sunday said that four men were arrested from Dwarka for involvement in over 100 cases of auto lifting and burglary in the area. The accused had also banged their heads into a wall to falsely implicate cops into a case of manhandling them, cops added.

According to police, on June 5, a case was reported at Uttam Nagar police station that a entire store had been burgled by some unidentified persons,

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Santosh Kumar Meena stated that on June 6, a tip-off was received that two accused, identified as Bhola and Kishan would come to Vipin Garden, near Ganda Nala, for conducting recce of some showrooms in the area around 10.00 pm.

"A trap was laid and both the criminals were intercepted while they came on a scooter. When they were confronted, they not only tried to flee, but also threatened police team to frame police in false case of beatings," said Meena.

He further said that Kishan even banged his head on the wall of the Ganda Nala and threatened the police team that he would break his head to fix police before the court with allegations of injuring him.

However, the police team brought the situation under control after nabbing Kishan and soon arrested both the accused persons. A truck load of the stolen items, including hair oil, shampoos, washing powder, food items and shoes were recovered at their instance. Later, their associates Vinod and Ravi were also arrested. Police claimed that accused revealed that they used to carry out recces of their targetted showrooms in advance.

"They actually entered into showrooms posing as customers and identified the points inside the showrooms where expensive and high-end articles were kept.

"During the night, they used to go with shutter-breaking instruments and sneak inside and commit crime," the senior police officer added.

The stolen items were disposed off at throw away prices and the accused used the money to lifea lavish life

Cops said the accused used to daily visit pubs and dance bars with their girl friends and are regular drug users.

Raids are being conducted in search of receivers of stolen articles and remaining co-accused person, who are absconding.

The special staff team which made the arrest was led by Sub-Inspector Naveen Kumar.
