Gurugram: Tales of horror at medical establishments seem to never end in Gurugram, with four-month-old girl losing her life at a private clinic on Saturday due to alleged medical negligence.
The deceased, identified as Pooja, was the daughter of Bahadur, a Nepali migrant residing in Sirhaul village.
After finding out that she was running a high fever, Pooja was referred to Dr Gulia Clinic, a private clinic in Sector-17.
After consultation, Pooja was provided with some medicine.
However, rather than showing improvement, her condition deteriorated. Hours later, Pooja she died.
The aggrieved parents on Sunday filed a police complaint against the Dr Gulia Clinic.
Carrying on with their investigations, Gurugram police carried out post-mortem of the victim's body and handed it over to the family.
The case has also been referred to the district Health department and its officials will scrutinise the medical procedure used for the treatment of the patient and whether there were any lapses in her treatment.
The case is a bleak reminder of the Park Hospital incident, reported in November, where 12-year-old Prateek died under mysterious circumstances.
Complaining of stomach ache and excessive vomiting, the family of the deceased admitted him to Park hospital.
During treatment, Prateek was reportedly injected with anaesthesia, soon after which he lost consciousness and ultimately died.
