Four children go missing in less than two weeks in Ggn

Gurugram: In what is turning out to be a worrying trend of child trafficking, four children between the ages of five and twelve years, have been reported missing from a single area in Gurugram.

Police sources said that all these children went missing from Chakkarpur area of the city, after June 26.

The eldest of the missing children, a 12-year-old boy identified as Paramjeet, was reported missing on June 26.

Subsequently, two sisters Pooja and Aarti, aged eight and six years, respectively, and their neighbour named Suraj, aged five, were also reported missing.

Paramjeet, a native of Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh, had lost his mother around eight months ago.

Curiously, all of the missing children are believed to have been kidnapped from within one kilometre radius of their homes.

Chakkarpur is less than a a kilometre away from Gurugram's MG road.

Last year, 154 minors were kidnapped from the city out of which 115 were girls. From 2012 to 2017, over 1,062 children have been kidnapped out of which 677 were girls.

According to Gurugram police, several gangs from Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan are highly active in committing such crimes.
