Foreign woman held with Rs 25L narcotics at IGIA
New Delhi: CISF on Thursday said that they have nabbed a foreign lady passenger with narcotics substance 'Pseudoephedrine' weighing about 25 kg worth approximately Rs 25 lakh at IGI Airport.
According to CISF on May 9, on profiling basis, CISF surveillance and intelligence staff of IGI Airport selected a foreign lady passenger for thorough checking in the departure of Ter-3.
On physical checking of her bags, six pouches filled with white granular and powdery substance (appears to be narcotics substance) were found concealed in the false bottom of a trolley bag and two more pouches were found concealed in two books kept in another bag.
CISF further added that the recovered two pouches were concealed in the books by cutting the inner pages of the books and making sufficient space so that the said packets can be concealed.
Total weight of recovered all eight (08) pouches containing white granular/powdery substance was about 25 kgs.
The recovered suspected substance was tested with the drug detection kit which confirmed it as Pseudoephedrine drug.
The lady was identified as Nomsa Lutalo, a South African who was supposed to travel from New Delhi to Johannesburg.
The matter was informed to Senior Officers of CISF and NCB Officials.
