Five-year-old girl raped in Gurugram

Gurugram: A 5-year-old girl whose parents work as contractual labourers in Gurugram area was allegedly kidnapped and raped on Wednesday evening.

The incident occurred at the Garhi Harsaru area near Sector-10.

She has been subsequently been admitted to the Government hospital where she is recovering.

According to the law enforcement officials the girl's parents who belong from Madhya Pradesh were involved in a construction work at a nearby farmhouse.

Observing that the parents were busy a person apparently offered girl sweets took jer to a desolate spot and sexually assaulted her.

The parents came to know what had happened to their daughter after the crying sounds made by the rape survivor.

After getting local help the minor was admitted to a civil hospital in a critical state where she underwent a two-hour surgery.

"The minor was brought a critical state and was bleeding profusely. We have operated on her and have kept her in observation. We hope that she will now be able to recover soon," said a doctor from the Civil Hospital

As of now, no arrests have been made in the case. Meanwhile, the Gurugram police have registered a case under Section-4 (penetrative sexual assault) of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).

"We are yet to record the statement of the rape survivor and are waiting for her recovery. Meanwhile, we have registered the case and begun our search for the person involved in this crime. We will soon be able to get hold of him. We have however spoken to the minor's parents and have asked their cooperation of whether they know anyone who would have committed the crime," said a senior official from Gurugram

police.

According to the police investigators the fact that the crime may have been committed by a person who would have known by the

victim.
