Five arrested, one juvenile apprehended for killing Ola driver

New Delhi: The Delhi Police has arrested five persons and apprehended one juvenile who killed an Ola cab driver in the Alipur area. The police claimed that the accused were arrested in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday from Narela. According to the police, on March 23 a body was found near open DDA land behind Khampur radio station, Alipur. The deceased was identified as Hari Narayan. He was a cab driver with Ola. The postmortem reported suggested the cause of death as "Ligature Strangulation".
The police claimed that the three accused were arrested from Narela and from their instance other accused were nabbed. One juvenile was also apprehended. After the interrogation of the accused, it was revealed that the accused identified as Rahul, Naveen, Hemant and Bunty are friends and were in need of employment and money. "These four accused made a plan to rob a car to meet their money requirement and procured three country made pistols. On 23 March, they booked an Ola cab. They called the driver of the cab by phone and boarded the cab," police said.
The accused canceled the booking after boarding the cab and after reaching an abandoned area behind Tikri village, they strangulated him with a "Gamcha" and threw the dead body in the open area away from the main road. They removed the GPS kit of Ola to hide the presence of cab.
