Five arrested for money exchange loot
NEW DELHI: The police have made a breakthrough in firing and looting of the money exchange office in Mahipalpur in Delhi and have arrested five persons. Two men were injured in the incident where armed robbers looted the money on October 22.
Cases of similar modus operandi were examined by the police. During study of the cases, the CCTV footage of the area was examined and local inputs were gathered. Criminal records and dossiers of previously arrested robbers were checked. Secret information about an accused was received to the team. "By the information and with the help of technical surveillance, the accused person were zeroed in the area of Deoria, UP. Due to hard work of the team, which spent many days in the remote area of Deoria, a successful raid was conducted and all five accused persons who were hiding in a Murgi Farmwere apprehended," said DCP South West Devender Arya.
On interrogation, they confessed their involvement in the present case and also in two sensational robbery of Karol Bagh –Rs 27 lakh and 8 lakh respectively– and one attempt to robbery and firing incident at the heart of Delhi Connaught Place. The gang head Veer Bahadur Yadav belongs to a middle class family. The others arrested in the case are Ajab Singh, Pankesh Kumar, Asif Ali and Sunil Kumar.
