First dengue death this year in Gurugram

Gurugram: First death this year due to dengue was reported from Gurugram as 13-year-old Gaurav succumbed to the multi-organ failure caused due to the disease. The deceased was suffering from the dengue for the last four days and his condition was becoming critical by the day.

Residing in Pataudi, Gaurav was initially receiving the treatment in a private hospital. He was however shifted after his condition deteriorated. At the time of death, he just had 29,000 platelets. 30 dengue cases have been confirmed in the city, while 300 suspected cases have been reported.

This time most of the cases are being reported from the posh areas of the city. The rapid response team has been set up by the district health department to tackle vector-borne diseases like dengue and malaria that sees spike during this season.
