Fire reported from hotel, none hurt

New Delhi: It seems that nothing has been learnt from the hotel Arpit Place blaze in which 17 persons were killed in February as in a recent case, a fire was reported from the restaurant in the West Delhi area. The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) said that the restaurant did not have any fire NOC.

According to the Delhi Fire Services, they received a call around 5.20 PM on Tuesday regarding the fire in a restaurant at Vishal Enclave area.

"As many as four fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the blaze," said DFS official. At the spot, it was found that fire was at the terrace of the restaurant.

"There was temporary structure on the terrace being used for restaurant purpose," said DFS chief fire officer Atul Garg.

He further added that no fire NOC was given by the fire department.

"No casualty was reported in the fire incident," said DFS official.

Even after the hotel Arpit Palace incident restaurants are flouting norms and risking lives of people staying there.

The data of DFS said that in( 2018-19) as many as 297 deaths reported last year whereas 1597 persons were injured in different incidents. The city also witnessed 27 medium and five serious fire. In the year 2017, as many as 318 persons died in 2017-18 and 1,767 injured. Around 24 medium and four serious fire were also reported.
