Fire kills one, injures two in Mangolpuri

New Delhi: Fire continues to kill people in Delhi as one person died and two others were injured after fire broke out in a nail polish factory in Outer Delhi's Mangolpuri on Tuesday. So far, over a dozen persons were killed in different fires this year.
The deceased was identified as Rajesh Gulati who lived in Mianwali Nagar. DCP (Outer) Mahendra Nath Tiwari stated that the incident came to light after they received a PCR call at 4:22 pm. "Rajesh and his father are co-owners of the factory, Shiva Cosmetics, located at Phase 1, Mangolpuri which is into nail polish manufacturing," said the DCP.
The injured were identified as Chandan (41) and Lalit Kumar (40). They worked as welding labourers. Atul Garg, Chief Fire Officer, told the Millennium Post that the factory was situated in the industrial area but they did not have fire NOC." We have sent seven fire tenders to the spot. It is suspected that the victim died due to suffocation," said Garg. The reason behind the fire is being investigated from all angles including the short-circuit. Meanwhile, Delhi Police has registered a case under sections 285/337/304A of IPC at Mangolpuri police station.
Fire continues to prove fatal for the people in Delhi. On April 17, two workers had died in a blaze inside a garment stitching factory in Gandhi Nagar area of Shahdara district.
On April 16, two laborers died in a fire incident inside the factory in Nawada area of Dwarka district. Last week, four persons of a family were killed in a fire which broke out at their residence in Kohat Enclave area. On 9 March, five persons were killed in two separate fires at a shoe-manufacturing unit in Delhi's Sultanpuri and Chandni Chowk. More than 10 persons were injured in the fire. Four more persons had died in four separate fire incidents reported from different parts of the Capital including Sarita Vihar and Swaroop Nagar.
