Fire in Gurugram mattress factory

Gurugram: There were scenes of chaos at the Rajendra park area as a massive fire engulfed a mattress factory. Such was the impact of the fire that over 12 fire tender vehicles were despatched to douse it.

However, it was a huge challenge for the officials as the area is densely populated and there are small industrial units surrounding the factory. Despite the best efforts, officials could stop the fire to affect some of the factories.

According to the officials, the news of the fire was reported at 1:10 pm and it took a more than two hours to douse the fire completely.

The main cause of the fire has still not been ascertained but it is estimated that the fire was caused due to a short circuit.

According to official data, over 200 high rises, which are 15 metres or more in height, do not have fire NOC safety

officials.
