FIR filed in case of inappropriate behaviour against minor girl in Jaipur

After a letter was shot by the chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Swati Maliwal to the Director General of Police Rajasthan, Manoj Bhatt, an FIR has been registered against all those who were involved in the case of inappropriate behaviour with a 13-year-old girl during a cultural performance in a resort named Chokhi Dhani in Jaipur.

The Rajasthan Police have filed a case after Maliwal, who was on a personal visit to the resort, objected to the behaviour of some men (apparently tourists) who were showering money and touching the minor girl inappropriately while she was made to dance in a cultural performance at the resort.

The FIR has been registered under Sections 23 and 26 of Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 2000 and also under Sections 11 and 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
The accused involved have also been charged with Section 354 (assault with intent to outrage modesty) and Section 374 (unlawful compulsory labour) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Maliwal, in her complaint, stated: "Those men were showering currency notes on the girl and were touching, pulling and caressing her while dancing with her. I was horrified at the audacity of the accused persons in the performing troop, who were making the girl dance and encouraging such acts."

Maliwal further expressed her dismay over the minor girl being made to dance while being surrounded by men, who were showering money on the girl and were touching her inappropriately during the performance.
Further, while talking to the girl, she told Maliwal that she was only 13-years-old.
