Father-son duo killed in hit and run at Kamla market

New Delhi: In a tragic hit and run accident late night on Monday, a father-son duo who were returning from work on a bicycle were mowed down by a speeding car in Central district's Kamla Market just under the Ranjit Singh flyover.

The car which, according to eyewitness, was in high speed, fled from the spot. However, the public which gathered at the accident scene managed to get the number plate of the car which was left behind due to the accident impact. The deceased were from Nepal. The minor boy came to Delhi to celebrate Diwali with his father and mother in Delhi.

The deceased father and son duo had been identified as Heera (30) and his son Kishore (10). They were immediately rushed to the hospital but were declared brought dead by the doctors. "I tried to chase the car on my bike, however since the car was in high speed, it soon vanished taking a left turn," said an eye witness to the accident.

Another eyewitness who is a driver said "I was cleaning my car when i saw a speeding car ramming into another car and then losing balance, it then mowed down the father and son who were on a bicycle. The boy was flung several meters in the air due to the impact."
